We are very pleased to announce the De-Fence Record Stage, a 2nd stage at Shuffle Down which will be curated by local label De-Fence Records! You will find the stage upstairs in the Findlay Russell Hall and will have a great selection of De-Fence favourites as well as some very special guests.

The stage will be hosting a rare live set by none other than De-Fence label boss  OnTheFly (Gavin Brown) who always puts on an electric live show.

Joining OnTheFly on the De-Fence Stage line up will be London's Love.Stop.Repeat, FOUND duo Lomond Campbell & River of Slime both working on exciting solo projects, the very talented singer songwriters Iona Marshall and Jo Foster.

There will of course be a De-Fence merch stall which will be selling some of their unique limited edition vinyl, CD's and more.

Here is a brilliant live OnTheFly set from the Fence Homegame Festival.

Between the summers of 2008 and 2010, Love.Stop.Repeat put out a mini-album, EP and full album on Make Your Own Adventure Records, an album and EP of remixes on De-Fence Records, played dozens of shows up and down the UK, appeared at a host of festivals and managed to make time to squeeze in a number of radio sessions and videos along the way.

The following 2 years saw them recording and touring the USA and Europe as part of another project, but in the summer of 2012 they were invited to play a special show at Eras of Style, Bexhill on Sea, as Love.Stop.Repeat once more, and returned with new songs and a slightly bigger collection of toys in their armour, adding to their sound.

In 2014, Love.Stop.Repeat return with a new album (coming this autumn). While still incorporating the same beautifully crafted, melodic indie-folk-pop heard on past releases, the soundscapes are bigger and bolder, with a little Yo La Tengo and Laura Veirs added to the mix.

Iona Marshall is a regular performer on the local Scottish music scene and has achieved acclaim winning ‘a Danny’ at Celtic Connections in 2011, playing numerous shows and festivals including Fence Records events, the Acoustic Stage Glastonbury 2011, Cosmo Jazz Chamonix 2012 and more. She has written and self produced several EPs over the last decade and released on De-Fence Records. She has collaborated with many other Scottish musicians, including Little Pebble, Jonnie Common, Harvey Lanes, and most recently Meursault and Michael Rattray.

Iona’s debut studio album ‘On The Rocks’ brings together a selection of her own songs, charged with mountain energy, and healing climbing power, rehearsed over 4 days in May 2013, in the French Alpine town of Chamonix and recorded a month later in Edinburgh’s Chamber Studio. On The Rocks is self released and offers an eclectic sounding mix from fast paced pop-rock to acoustic picked guitar à la chanteuse style. There is something for everyone!
